Documents necessary for an in-person meeting at the bank if the child is 7 to 15 years old

The child’s parent or other representative needs to visit the bank and:

  • Bring their own and the child’s passport or eID card or foreigner's passport and residence permit.
  • The child’s birth certificate or other document which proves representation is required if the parent or other representative brings only their eID card or the parent’s passport has no entry about the child.

We offer the Smart-ID mobile app as the authorisation tool for confirming payments and various actions in the internet bank. The app can be set up remotely and without bank’s assistance by using the biometric identification method. A guide is available on the Smart-ID web page. If you do not wish to use Smart-ID, we will issue a code calculator as the authorisation tool.

Documents necessary for an in-person meeting at the bank if the child is 16 to 17 years old

From the age of 16 persons can represent themselves – by bringing their passport or eID card, the teenager can visit the bank alone. The account can also be opened by teenager’s parent or representative. In such case the parent or other representative needs to visit the bank and:

  • Bring their own and the child’s passport or eID card or foreigner's passport and residence permit.
  • The child’s birth certificate or other document which proves representation is required if the parent or other representative brings only their eID card or the parent’s passport has no entry about the child.

If you prefer to skip visits to the bank and save time, you can become our customer starting from the age of 16 via the SEB mobile app.
