On 10 February, SEB in Latvia will start moving to a new IT and customer service system
After more than three years of work, SEB in Latvia will move to a new IT and customer service system on 10–12 February. The system change is aimed at enhancing the development of SEB’s IT and digital solutions and providing a single IT system for banks belonging to the SEB Group across the Baltics. The very first benefit for customers after the introduction of the new system will be a new Internet banking system with a fresh design and a wide range of functionalities. The system will also be easy to use on mobile devices, and it will enable users to determine the content of their home page individually.
Since 12 December of last year, the ‘Notifications’ section on the SEB’s website www.seb.lv has featured information on changes to banking services, which will come into force on 13 February after the transfer to the new IT and customer service system. Today, 10 January, SEB in Latvia will commence wider communication by gradually familiarising customers with the functionality of the new Internet banking system, as well as with changes to other services. As of 1 February, more detailed information will be available on interruptions to the operation of the system on 10–12 February, while the Bank moves to the new system.
Ieva Tetere, Head of SEB in Latvia: “When we were preparing our IT system for the introduction of the euro, we conducted analysis concerning the introduction of a new IT and customer service system. The last time SEB in Latvia changed its principal system was in 2000. In introducing this new system, we are working closely with colleagues in Estonia and Lithuania, since we will use the system in operation at SEB in Estonia as a basis. It has been a complicated project, during which we have also engaged external experts at different stages. In general, over 10 different customer service and internal accounting systems will be replaced during the transfer to the new IT system. By mid-February, we are planning to address over 600,000 customers regarding different changes related to services or availability of services. It is highly important for us that our customers become acquainted with this information for all of us to get used to changes easier during this transfer. After 1 February, we will provide information on limitations to banking services at the end of the week so our customers can plan their payments or purchases in a timely manner. Old habits die hard; therefore, even in case of the most anticipated changes, we still have to get used to them. I wish all our customers can spare some of their time to become acquainted with changes and to wait together with us for the new Internet banking system and other news”.
We would like to remind you that customers currently have an opportunity to ask questions or express their concerns by calling the SEB Bank helpline on +371 26668777 or using the Skype line SEB_Latvija.
