Introducing our new cards
Our payment and credit cards not only offer seamless transactions for your everyday needs, but now also contribute to reducing our environmental impact. By utilising bioplastic made from eco-friendly corn starch, we've replaced 84% of the cards' plastic content, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
We have revamped the visual design of our cards, drawing inspiration from the unique landscapes of the Nordic region. Additionally, we have introduced a tactile cut-out for most commonly used cards, which assists visually impaired individuals in easily identifying and orienting their cards.
As we gradually roll out the new card designs, rest assured that your current cards will continue to function as usual. As your current card nears the expiration date, you'll automatically receive the updated design.

Frequently asked questions
For security purposes, contactless payment functionality will be activated after you confirm your very first payment with the specific card with its PIN code. You can modify the contactless payment limits according to your daily needs and habits. Upon reaching this limit in one or several payments, the next purchase will need to be confirmed with the PIN regardless of the payment amount. This limit can be changed:
- in the mobile app (“Cards” → “Settings and limits”)
- in the internet bank (“Cards” → “My cards” → “Change data”)
In case you don’t use contactless payments, we suggest disabling this functionality for security purposes.
In case your card is lost or stolen, we suggest blocking it immediately. You can block the card:
- in the mobile app (“Cards” → “Card” → “Blocking”)
- in the internet bank (“Cards” → “My cards” → “Block card”)
- by calling SEB at +371 26668777 (24/7)
Yes. You can order a new card in the internet bank section "Cards" → "New card". Cards are sent by post to your residential address, office address or anywhere else in Latvia or abroad, wherever you usually stay or prefer to receive the card at. The fee for sending card by mail in Latvia is 1 euro. The fee is not applied to customers under the age of 21, as well as to persons who have become a customer of SEB remotely (using a mobile app). The fee for sending the card abroad is 10 euros. You can also receive the card to an Omniva parcel machine in Latvia. The commission fee for sending a card to a parcel machine is 2.30 euros.
You can view your card’s PIN code in the internet bank section "Cards" → "My cards" → "View PIN code".
Yes. You can change the PIN code by using an ATM of SEB.
If you enter a wrong PIN three times in a row when making a purchase, the card will be automatically blocked for security purposes.
In such case, please contact the bank by writing a letter in the internet bank to request the card to be unblocked. Afterwards you can unblock the card at any ATM by entering the correct PIN code.
Remember that you can view your card’s PIN code in the internet bank. If necessary, you can change the PIN code using an ATM of SEB.
First you need to activate the card in one of these ways:
- in the mobile app (“Cards” → “Activate your new card” → “Activate”)
- or in the internet bank (“Cards” → “My cards” → “Activate card” and enter the last 5 digits of your new card’s number)
Renewed cards can also be activated by using ATMs of SEB – insert the card, enter the PIN code and select "Card activation".
The default daily limit for cash withdrawals at an ATM with a debit card is 1500 euros, but you can freely increase this limit up to 2200 euros:
- in the mobile app (“Cards” → “Settings and limits”)
- in the internet bank (“Cards” → “My cards” → “Change data”)
Please note that a commission fee is applied if you withdraw more than 600 euros during a month.
The design of the new payment and credit cards was inspired by the unique landscapes of the Nordic region. Each card has a different theme. For example, the debit cards for private individuals feature the Baltic Sea, while the business credit cards depict an evergreen forest.
In addition, 84% of the new card is made of bioplastics, produced using environmentally friendly corn starch. Thus, we reduce our CO2 footprint right from the start of production.
In our search for a greener way to produce payment cards, we analysed the full life cycle of the card – from the materials used in production, through the manufacturing process and transportation, to the end of the card's life cycle.
At the same time, it was important for us to find a material that was not only environmentally friendly, but also durable and safe. The bioplastic cards are tested and certified by the card manufacturer. The manufacturer assures that the payment cards will withstand a full life cycle. However, we remind you that the customer and the cardholder have a duty to safeguard the card and use it with care protecting it from mechanical or electronic damages.
The new cards are chip-enabled and can be used for contactless payments, just like the existing ones.
We've added a tactile cut-out to the most commonly used payment cards. This makes it easier for people with visual impairments to recognise and use the cards.
You will notice that we have already replaced your card image with the new design in the SEB mobile app, internet bank and digital wallets. Whereas, as to the plastic cards, we'll replace them gradually – when your current card expires, we'll automatically make you a new design card. This can lead to situations where you see an image of the new design card next to your existing old design card in the internet bank or on the mobile app.
You don't need to apply for a new card or take any other action – our existing cards will remain in operation as usual. When your card is about to expire, we will automatically produce and send you a new design card.
However, if you want to use the new design card now, you can replace the card or apply for a new card. Whereas, if you use a credit card, you can apply for additional card and then close your existing credit card.
Please note that charges apply for replacing a card, applying for a new card and ordering an additional card according to the price list.
We have introduced a new visual design for our cards, including the existing Mastercard Gold credit card. Furthermore, we have changed the name of the card to Mastercard Premium.
