Global Finance named SEB banka the best bank in Latvia
The international financial magazine Global Finance has announced the winners of the award “Best banks in Central and Eastern Europe in 2017”. SEB banka has been named the best bank in Latvia.
Ieva Tetere, CEO of SEB banka: “We are proud of the recognition given by the experts of Global Finance, which supports our consistent focusing on customer service on a daily basis. We have been working hard building closer relationships with our customers, listening to their needs, providing world-class service and sustainable services as well as offering innovative solutions to them.
Last year, we have focused on digital solutions and started using tablet PCs at our branches, which facilitates customer knowledge about internet bank and make the demonstration easy accessible. We now have an online chatroom for those who need advice on housing and consumer loans on our online banking website; we also provide our customers with an easy, fast and convenient option to apply for study loans, consumer loans and credit cards online.
We were the first bank in Latvia to introduce contactless cards that can be used for making payments at major commercial networks. Last year, in the course of modernising our ATM network, we installed 44 new generation ATMs and changed over to a new IT and customer service system.
In February, we launched the new IT and customer service system, making available to our customers the new online banking facility that offers modern and convenient financial planning opportunities for our customers. This year we plan to offer further new digital solutions with a view to facilitating and making our customers’ financial routine easier and less complicated.”
This year, the winners are banks, which were capable of handling the interests of customers most successfully and demonstrated the best performance by developing future projects. The best candidates of each country had been assessed by the international expert panel and the representatives of Global Finance against certain criteria, such as the development of new businesses, the company’s profitability and strategic development, as well as service and technology innovations. Full results will be published in this year's May issue of Global Finance.
