SEB Global Services centre in Riga joins the innovation movement VEFRESH
On December 5, SEB Global Services centre in Riga and the innovation movement VEFRESH signed a cooperation agreement on mutual collaboration in developing the traffic infrastructure and smart-city solutions in the historical VEF area in Riga.
During the next spring SEB Global Services centre in Riga will move to their new office building GUSTAVS which is currently under construction in Teika, which will become the new home for all 1200 employees and one of the most modern, inspiring and sustainable office buildings in Riga.
Innovation movement VEFRESH unites companies which operate in the historical VEF area in Riga. This area houses companies such as LMT, Accenture, Mikrotik, TietoEvry, Siemens, Nordigen and others. By signing the cooperation agreement SEB Global Services will take part in the activities coordinated by VEFRESH to promote improvements of the traffic infrastructure and urban environment in the VEF area.
"We look forward to next spring when VEF area will become our new home and our employees which are currently spread across three different locations in Riga will be able to work under one roof. It is crucial that our colleagues are able to get to our new building quickly, conveniently and safely by feet, bicycle or any other types of mobility, but in addition to traffic infrastructure improvements, we will also cooperate with VEFRESH in other areas, such as promoting STEM education and creating innovations," said Rūta Jasiulioniene, Head of SEB Global Services centres in Riga and Vilnius during the signing event.
"We are in a close dialogue with Riga City Council about the upcoming large-scale infrastructure projects, for instance, the reconstruction of the intersection between Brīvības street and Gustava Zemgala gatve, which will transform it into a two-level intersection. By adding new members to our movement, we are strengthening our collaboration platform, which will enable us to reach even better results," stressed Viesturs Celmiņš, Executive Director of VEFRESH.
The agreement between SEB Global Services in Riga and VEFRESH encompasses collaboration in areas such as transport and mobility, reachability of GUSTAVS, increasing visibility of SEB, employee well-being as well as involvement of SEB in developing sustainable and innovative solutions.
